When
selecting a tool to install blind rivets, the primary factors for
consideration are the power supply. the tool can be powered by air,
battery or a hand tool. It is important to ensure the tool has the
capacity to install the diameter of rivet being set.
The blind rivet is installed by the rivet tool gripping and pulling the
end of the rivet stem. As the stem is pulled by a rivet tool, the blind
portion of the rivet expands radially and pulls the application
materials firmly together. When the material clamping is completed, the
end of the stem breaks at the preformed groove and is ejected.
